Noggin,Nash & Natter - Longbridge Deverill 2015

This event has apparently been running for 28 years.  I only heard about it 3 years ago and last night was my first visit and that nearly didn't happen as the late afternoon skies in Bristol were full of cloud and heavy sharp showers. Because of the earlier gloomy sky I set off later than I originally planned and after clearing the outskirts of Bath I was really glad to be out and thought to myself  "even if there is not much there I'm enjoying this anyway" My heart did sink a bit when I kept seeing plenty of Classic cars heading in the opposite direction to me. As it turned out there was still plenty on site and I have to say it was one of the better events of this year so far.
For future reference it is held at The George pub on the A350 road to Shaftesbury and only a couple of miles from the junction of the A36. I believe that I've read that it is always the last Wednesday of July - 5pm to 10 pm.

Vauxhall Wyvern

A Bentley or two

Bristol 403

Gran Torino

Triumph TR3

The engine was running on this Vauxhall Victor and there was a lovely burble from
the short pipes, one of which can be seen exiting in front of the rear wheel

Not much in the way of bikes with most of them being parked
on the street

Calne Bike Day 2015

I popped along to Calne bike day last Saturday and it seemed busier than ever. It's become ever more a Harley / Custom bike event and so not really my thing, but Calne is only approx 30 mls east of Bristol and for once we had a smattering of some blue skies. I stayed a little over an hour, took a few photo's and that was enough.

That's some brake !

Liked to have heard this fired up.

Not quite sure what the locals think of the parking ?

It's not a motorcycle baby,it's a chopper

Something Different

I called in to see my friend Stan, mechanic and Mot man, the other day and didn't even initially notice the little Puch when walking into his workshop. I'm not sure what is was there for though would guess a mot. I asked whether it was a young lad that owned it,but apparently it's a chap in his 50's. It's got a big bore kit fitted taking it to 70cc .
The other two pics are of Stan's race replica's that he builds and has outings on at Mallory Park and Brands Hatch.
He also has a Wes Cooley GS 1000 based replica.

Moto Guzzi project

I'd spent quite a bit of time digging out the caked on semi solidified old oil from the fins and crevices of the crankcase / gearbox casing etc of  local man Mark's T3 /Leman project. You can only do so much with a screwdriver, industrial strength degreaser and petrol when the time came to get the items off to the professionals.
Just over two weeks later I have got all the parts back looking probably better than new. Before the blasting there were also a number of broken fins and general alloy repairs that also had to be done.

Shame that it also highlights the corrosion.
Worst effected are both r/covers and a small amount under the gearbox
