Bristol Auto Italia Day 2016

I don't know how this event every year manages to pull off generally very decent weather. This year it was a little cold and blue skies. Sadly because of the tallish buildings and narrow streets the sun struggles to supply any body warmth until mid to late afternoon.
It's a very popular event, but it didn't seem quite as busy as previous years and although plenty of cars and bikes to look at more of the older stuff and Specials wouldn't have gone amiss.
I went down on my latest build (to sell) which thankfully seemed to get a lot of positive attention from what I saw and was told by other friends.
One of the highlights (sad I know !) of my day was, as I left, being accosted by a Hen Party group and getting asked for the soon to be married young lady to pose for photographs sitting on the back of my bike. It's a shame that I didn't think to ask one of them to take a pic with my camera.
A new Ducati Monster which I'd never even seen a picture of before

Ben Part (Davida Guzzi builder) came down on this

Another One Bites The Dust

Prince 1958 - 2016
I first new of Prince in approx 83' when I bought a 12" copy of Little Red Corvette out of the 'bargain box' for 50p. Then Purple Rain came out and carried on buying his albums -  well into the late 90's.
We saw him live in 1988 at the NEC in Birmingham, a large warehouse type venue made a lot more intimate with a round stage and the seating circulating it. A Great show that started with him arriving  in a large American car that appeared out of nowhere on some sort of hydraulic system following  the outside edge of the stage.
A Great Show from start to finish !

Yamaha YDS7

My friend Pete turned up unexpectedly as a pleasant suprise  at my workshop last Friday. The sun was shining and he'd been to pick up some powder coating from a nearby company taking the opportunity to come and show me one of his recent newly rebuilt little Yam - he has a Triumph 3TA that he's put back together non restored and recently re-acquired his old T160.........oh yes then there is the V7 Sport that he's building which started with just a genuine frame, engine and gearbox.
Anyway, although I'm not particularly a 2 stroke person I think the little Yamaha is very pretty which he's slotted a 350cc engine into - a job that apparently wasn't quite as easy as he thought !
