The 8th International Nailsea Bike Show

I got to the show on Sunday meeting up with my friend Adam. I'd say that they had probably squeezed more bikes into the back garden of the pub than last year with,as ever,quite a mixture of makes,models and years................something for everybody really! 
    I'd say the highlight for me, was my friend Steve's Kawasaki Sprint bike which he reckons will be ready for action in 2019, so that'll be interesting to see at Westonzoyland .

At times the roads on my route were wet and worringly shitty from farmers vehicles,but it didn't actually rain on my 140 mile round trip and although on the chilly side I had a enjoyable ride, as for the most part the roads are decent A roads. The bikes in the pub garden looked a little sparse when I arrived and my first thoughts were that 'I wouldn't stay long' but a short while later Barry from down the road at Bicester turned up and we had a very pleasant chat. By the time I left there were a few more bikes and surprisingly quite a few people milling about

Norton Cafe Racer Day & The 8th Nailsea Bike Show

This weekend there are two events on. The 8th Nailsea Bike Show on Saturday / Sunday and on Saturday only the Norton Cafe Racer Day at Cassington Oxfordshire - this is organised by the Oxfordshire branch of the Norton Owners Club,but is open to anybody on any bike. Although the weather forecast isn't too good for Saturday afternoon I hope to go to this latter event and possibly pop along to Nailsea on the Sunday.

MRD METISSE HARLEY

Here is a pic of my friend Roger's Harley MRD Metisse. This a around 98' / 99' I think, as it's outside a shop that I ran for approx 3 years. Pretty sure that he'd not long had it on the road commisioned from Pat French (MRD Metisse) who was based here in Bristol. Certainly wouldn't look out of place as a current build would it!

Triumph T110 project

My friend Pete's T110 is making progress and looking great,especially when you see what he started with. I admire him (and anyone who, in particular, start with very little) for his patience and the hunting down of parts at autojumbles and by word of mouth, to restore it back to it's former glory. 
   I'm fairly sure that I've posted the 'before' pics before, but  posting up again along with a very current pic puts it all in to perspective. Pretty sure that he now has all / most parts to finish it. However it won't be having the original remote float carb as apparently a price of £600+ is the going rate.

Bristol Bike Show pics

The weather was decent and the turnout very good. Not so much in the way of Guzzi's and Cafe Racers in general, as to be expected,but still some interesting bikes.

The Bristol Bike Show

This Saturday is the Bristol Bike Show. It is located in the centre of the city - the same streets as the Auto Italia Day.  It is usually very well attended with a big mixture of bikes inc Classics,Customs Choppers, Specials etc. I seem to remember mention of there being a Bobber competition this year?
