Here is a pic of my friend Roger's Harley MRD Metisse. This a around 98' / 99' I think, as it's outside a shop that I ran for approx 3 years. Pretty sure that he'd not long had it on the road commisioned from Pat French (MRD Metisse) who was based here in Bristol. Certainly wouldn't look out of place as a current build would it!
Yeh I remember that bike, do you know if it's still on the road ? Doe's your mate Roger still own it ? I'd certainly love a go on it !
ReplyDeleteJoe, I saw Roger approx 12 -18 months ago and he still had the bike then and think that he still uses it. He was having another 'Special' built by a company in,I think,Worcestershire. It was a company I knew of,but I can't remember the name of.
ReplyDeleteThat's very interesting to me. I had the last of the batch of 12 frames built in 1997 and built a bike with a Buell motor. I'm always looking for the others, I know one went to Italy and one the US also one is in Norfolk. Gerry at Metisse still has one in Oxfordshire but hasn't been on the road for years. I'd love to see some more pics.
ReplyDeleteHi Joe, I'm not sure that I have any other pics, but can certainly try and get in touch with Roger. Regards John
ReplyDeleteThat would be great thanks. I built mine with the original MK3 scrambler style bodywork but Pat French must have been the first to see the street tracker trend in the UK. I think he intended them all to be that style, all the others are very similar. Be great to have a closer look. Cheers, Joe.
ReplyDeleteRickman day at the Sammy Miller museum on the 23rd June, be great to get at least two V twins there....? I'll be taking mine for sure.
ReplyDeleteJoe, I've passed the message on to Roger
