Hello Barry, Glad you like it as I'm quite excited by this build so I just hope that it lives up to my expectations. The bars are stainless BSA type items. Yes I keep looking at it from the rear and think it'd be good to see a pipe sticking out from the other side and similarly the single front disc but it's all about being as light as possible etc. Certainly no side mounted number plate though!
BSA bars, eh? Interesting. I'm possibly looking at putting a pair of Norton Interstate bars on one of mine. Wide-ish, bit of rise, but not as high as the T3 bars, far as I can work out. No idea if it's going to work until they're on there, I guess! At which point I discover I have something else to put in a box, or on ebay...
Oh man. I've just been back to look at this. My eye takes in the round-barrel rocker covers first, and then...
Wait. What? No lower frame rails? High front engine mounts? So, it's an ... 1100 Sport? But that would mean square barrels, so maybe he's fitted the adapter for the rocker covers. Nope, round barrels. Hours and hours of machining?
Now I *really* look forward to seeing this I have questions. Or is ItalianMotor going to ask all them for an article? If so, this time I'll have to make an effort to be there for the photo shoot!
It's most definitely a round barrel le man spec 950 using a 1100 Sport timing cover. I can't see it being ready for Cassington though but I'd like to think I'll get there this year as last year I had a problem with the Guzzi -useless new condenser and why I don't listen to my own advice is anybody's guess? Strangely not heard from Adam in ages
Looking good. Hope to see this in the flesh soon ... Italian Day at Cassington, June 8th? What bars have you opted for this time?
ReplyDeleteAppalled to see that your stringent eye for symmetry has relaxed. Please tell us that you aren't fitting a side mounted number plate? (o:

ReplyDeleteLook forward to seeing you - and to seeing this in good time. "Round barrel with a Sport timing cover explains" why my eyes are confused!
