Here's a few pics of some UK Guzzi racers from 15 - 20 + years ago.
The first is from TAB Racing a pair of local friends based ( at the time) here in Bristol - Bedwyr and Torquil. Torquil once had a stint racing the Raceco / Three Cross Daytona.
The 2nd is the old Jim Blomley bike
The 3rd is a later Blomley bike
The 4th is the Bob Clarke (brother of Chris Clarke) and apparently used as a back up to the main bike - coincidentally I bought this around the same time as I had the Chris Clarke bike
The Chris Clarke/Raceco bike from the early 90's

great set of pics!
ReplyDeleteThanks Torquil. Have you still got the race bike?

ReplyDeletejohn.
Hello John, This is John who had the shop and put you in touch with the Blomley Guzzi.
ReplyDeletehey John, sorry for very late reply on this, i only just now read it! august 2020. i was in Bristol a few days ago callimg in with Bedwyr. i still have my Guzzi, registered in Switzerland. How are you?
DeleteHello John, No problem. Still registered in Switzerland but I thought you'd been living back in the UK for a long time?
Deletei need more infos about GUZZI TAB RACING...PLEASE!
ReplyDeleteHello Davide, Sorry not reply sooner but I've only just seen you comment. Sadly there is not much more that I can tell you about the TAB racing Guzzi. I believe it still exists and is in storage but other that what I wrote on my post I have nothing else to offer. I don't think that they raced it for very long. Torquil who also rode it trained/worked at Ricardo Engineering here in the UK and also worked on Indy cars in California for a number of years. For a very short period he also rode the Raceco Guzzi Daytona. Bedwyr was an aircraft engineer so two sets of very good brains!
