My friend Joe sent me these pics of a friend of a friends rather knackered Guzzi engine. The likeliest looking causing for this mess was possibly a camshaft casting inclusion that's laid dormant for 40+ years. The owner / rider was riding quite sedately at the time and also came to no harm I believe.

Motonero Guzzi Trio
Just because I thought it makes a good pic but all older builds now with the Black Roadster in the background being from at least probably 15 years ago.

Route 66 through the Black Mountains........
........from Kingman to the old mining town of Oatman. That night we didn't arrive in Las Vegas until 10.30pm after leaving the Grand Canyon that morning.
Apparently some cars used to have to drive parts of this stretch in reverse (for the lower gearing) and or so that fuel could get to the carburettor |
Descendants of the miners Burros come down from the hills in the daytime. No idea what type of snake that is? |

USA Trip
For the past few weeks I've been updating my moto nero Facebook page cover photo with pics from mine and Tony's US trip going back 13 years or so ago.
Somewhere in north west New Mexico and we'd come from that direction - the nose of Tony's le man 1000 |
and this is the direction we were headed and finally ended up that evening in Cortez Colorado |
Either already in or would soon be in Colorado...... ...and NO this isn't Monument Valley |
The next day and approx 40 mls south of Cortez. This is very close to the Four Corners monument where Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Arizona meet |
This is Monument Valley |
Moto Guzzi Cafe Racer
A older build from 6+ years ago that I sold approx 4 - 5 years ago. Really liked the colour even in a dull light but when the sun shone on it

Moto Guzzi 750S
Neil's 750S has been back together a while and had some running issues but taken it out it out a couple of times for a quick spin and all seems to be good. A shame that Neil has the repainted tank back in London and although I have the toolbox lids he also has the rods for the hinges.

Moto Guzzi Drive Box Woes .........
California Dreamin' by Jose Feliciano
Before the advice became less ambiguous ..........
.............and so just the previous weekend finally got to meet up - at a distance still - with my friend Pete. The Starbucks on the A40 at Burford was serving takeaways and the weather was bright albeit quite chilly.
Arlington Row cottages at Bibury. Apparently Henry Ford wanted to purchase them at ship to the USA |
Probably one of my favourite old houses that has me fascinated every time I go by. Early 16th century Doughton Manor opposite Prince Charles Highgrove just a few miles from Tetbury Glos |

Moto Guzzi 750S
Neil's 750S is stripped for frame powder coating plus a few other jobs including a repair to one of the toolboxes - the extra drilled holes in the backs are because the electrical components are fitted in each.
Shepton Mallet VMCC Autojumble
We went to the jumble a couple of weeks back which was just before the major concerns of the Corona Virus and therefore pre social gathering bans. Having said that there were a number of empty spaces where stalls should have been but still a enjoyable few hours with plenty of barn finds etc up for sale.

Guzzi Le Man 1
.
A few weeks back local man, Garry, collected his le man 1 that hadn't been on the road since 1993. Apart from the obvious there were a few other jobs to do. It was just about getting it running, sorting out the brakes which involved the complete stripping of all calipers and master cylinders, new tyres on the freshly powder coated wheels etc etc.
