Some 19 - 20 years ago I asked John Williams (the tank shop) to make to make me a alloy tank based on a 1100 Sport item but to fit a Tonti frame. Now,I was in no major rush, but still didn't expect the wait to be quite as long as it was. As it turned out though my plans changed and I didn't end up using it on a project until approx 2009 - the bike that I posted a few pics of just a few weeks back. Sometime in,I think, 2011 I sold that bike via Ebay to a chap,Sean, in Australia. Out of a few other interested people was a chap called Bill, from Scotland. So what a coincidence that I have now bought - from Bill - the tank that he'd purchased some 6 - 7 years ago, to build his own version of a Guzzi Cafe Racer. Having retired a couple of years ago his plans had changed - like they do for us all - and he's now acquired a carbon fibre replica le man 1 tank and CF race style seat unit.

Guzzi Cafe Racer
These pics are from approx 8 years ago when the Cafe Racer was just at the road test stage and I found the village petrol pump location to add a bit more character to the pics. At this time the Black Roadster had already been on the road for 3 - 4 years
Sometime in either 2009 or early 2010 and very nearly ready to get on the road |
Black Roadster built around 2007 / 08' |
Castle Combe and always good as a backdrop for pics |
